Events on Community
Events let you gather people around a specific moment in time — whether it’s a digital meetup, an in-person hangout, or a community-wide celebration. They give you a dedicated space to plan before the event, share during, and remember it afterward.
Event Basics
Create an Event by setting a time, date, and location (physical or digital).
Events can be public (visible and joinable by anyone) or private (invite-only).
The creator can invite users, and invitees can RSVP as Going or Not Going.
If you RSVP as Going, the event will appear in your Upcoming Events list.
Before the Event
Leading up to the event, the event page acts like a private group feed for confirmed attendees. You can use this space to:
Share plans or updates
Coordinate logistics
Connect with other attendees
Only people who have RSVP'd can see and post here.
During the Event
Once the event begins, a new live event feed activates automatically. This is separate from the planning feed, and is intended for:
Real-time updates
Photos, videos, or reflections from the moment
Live community engagement
This live feed stays open for 24 hours after the event ends.
After the Event
After the 24-hour post-event window closes:
Posting is disabled.
The event becomes a static record of what happened.
The event creator can create a scrapbook — a curated view of posts made during the event.
If you attended, this scrapbook will show up in your Past Events list — a permanent memory of the experience.
Why Use Events?
Centralize everything for your event in one place
Make real-time participation easier
Memorialize the event for your community
Drive more engagement before, during, and after
Whether you're planning a digital Q&A, an IRL meetup, or a week-long celebration, Events give you the structure and space to bring it to life.
